I received my PhD in History from the University of Bristol in 2024. I have previously studied at the University of York, and the University of Manchester.
My PhD research examined the Church of England’s involvement in African chattel enslavement. I have primarily written on the work of Anglican missionary societies in the early nineteenth century Caribbean. I have researched and taught courses about African chattel enslavement and Britain’s involvement in the trade.
I am also interested in the repercussions of this research, and I have worked closely with the Diocese of Bristol on contested heritage projects. I have undertaken research into institutional involvement in transatlantic slavery, alongside short-term research projects relating to specific individuals/places.
I am available for research and consultancy work, and book reviews.
